The opening day of NYEW 2019 started with a focus on innovation, explored current trends in the energy sector, utilization of state sponsors financing availability for businesses, approaches for empowering communities, discussed much needed green clean energy development, and navigating New York State state regulations.
On Jun 16, 2019, Argentina and Uruguay saw a massive electrical failure that was first of its kind. Millions of people were affected due to a failure in the system. Though the exact cause of the failure still needs to be figured out, there is a possibility that this could have happened by excessive rainfall. Argentina has recently been hit by heavy rainfall which, as reported by UTE, Uruguay’s state-owned utility, has damaged some systems and that they need to be repaired.

It also calls for 100% emissions-free electricity by 2035. Another target is to produce 9 GW of offshore wind power by 2035. Currently, the state does not produce any electricity from offshore wind.

As the electrical storage industry heats up in New York, the thermal energy storage market has continued its run of success across the state. Trane®, a leader in ice–based thermal energy storage solutions to New York customers, had another great year in 2018, with new projects at prominent sites across New York State.
Trane Thermal Battery™ cooling systems use a thermal energy storage concept that is deceptively simple: buildings store energy in the form of ice.
