Bloomberg has offered an official endorsement of New York Energy Week, stating that “New York is at the dawn of a new age of innovation in energy that will ensure our continued economic and environmental leadership in the 21st century and beyond… we commend Energy Solutions Forum for its commitment to developing clean energy strategies and for bringing New York’s energy community together with this week’s events.”
To the official schedule of events, New York Energy Week welcomes key players in energy such as New York State “Energy Czar” Richard Kauffman, National Grid New York president Kenneth Daly, NYSERDA CEO and President Francis J. Murrayand Barclays Capital Managing Director Theodore Roosevelt IV to offer remarks at the New York Energy Week Opening Ceremony on Monday June 24th.
“Having the support and participation from large private companies, utilities, startups, and the public sector are essential for solving our climate and energy challenges,” said Micah Kotch, Director of Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Polytechnic Institute of New York University (NYU-Poly) and Executive Director of the NYC Accelerator for a Clean and Resilient Economy at NYU-Poly (NYC ACRE), the city’s preeminent clean energy entrepreneurship center. “Innovation and investment are key strengths in New York City’s energy sector, and we’re thrilled to help launch New York Energy Week as an integral piece of the network that is propelling this critical industry sector.”
The structure of the week includes four energy-themed breakfasts focused on solar financing, oil & gas, cleanweb, and the power industry, as well as headlining evening receptions and marquee events such as the NYEW Energy Data Jam hosted by Google, the NYEW Startup Showcase and the Energy Media Reception.
