Energy Solutions Forum (ESF) had the privilege to host two special guests: Jeremy McCool, Founder & CEO of HEVO Power and Niklas Frijs-Madsen, Analyst at DI (Dansk Industri) during our NYEW 2014 Steering Committee Meeting this past Friday, May 9th. Attendees from various backgrounds listened with undivided attention and left inspired by these leaders pioneering the future of global energy.
HEVO (Hybrid and Electric Vehicle Optimization) was an idea conceived in Baghdad, as Jeremy saw the opportunity to develop alternative fuel products and business solutions to our energy dependency on foreign oil. Jeremy noted that due to a disconnected system of electric vehicles and faulty connectors, there is growing need for resilient and reliable wireless vehicle charging technology, especially as the electric fleet target market today is about $0.6 billion in the U.S. and $5 billion globally, with anticipated growth to $20 billion in five years. His vision of the future of wireless charging amazed the audience with the idea of dynamic charging along highway systems.
Niklas from DI- Dansk Industri presented an overview of the history on our energy consumption, starting with the oil crisis in the 1970s and how the risks arising from volatility in the energy market led to the progressive energy-saving policies that followed. Niklas noted that since the 1980s, the Danish economy increased by 80% and energy consumption stayed the same. It demonstrates Denmark’s commitment to sustainability and Dansk Industri has exemplified its vision to develop modern cleantech solutions through its strategic partnership with New York.
