Dear Friends:
It is a great pleasure to join with EnerKnol in celebrating New York Energy Week. New York City is committed to building a more sustainable, more resilient, and more equitable city, and to achieve this goal, we are setting bold, necessary goals as part of OneNYC. Part of this plan is to expand energy options for all New Yorkers and move our city toward renewable sources of energy – a goal we are already working to achieve by making solar energy more accessible through Solarize NYC. Solar installations have tripled since 2014, and as we continue to build on this momentum, we are delighted to once again welcome Energy Week to our city. Featuring an exciting and engaging schedule of events, NYEW brings together representatives from the industry’s many diverse sectors and encourages collaboration and discussion of new technology, changing policy, and future developments. With its mission to spur business development, job creation, and innovative solutions, this event strengthens both our city’s economy and position as a leader in sustainability, and I applaud its organizers and participants for their dedication to our future.
On behalf of all New Yorkers, I offer my best wishes for a productive week and continued success.
Sincerely,
Bill de Blasio
Mayor
